We went to Jurong Lake Park on 13/7/2009. It was a very interesting biology field trip and we even spotted many different kinds of interesting living organisms. While we were taking pictures of the different kinds of living organisms, we spotted mosses, cocoons, a beautiful spider web with insects on it and squirrels! It was a pity we could not take pictures of squirrels with them running so fast up the trees, but we certainly have lots of fun.
Our biology theme was “undergrowth” so we start digging round the soil to find some insects and organisms. We also classified the insects into organisms found near the water edge and organisms found on the plants. It was quite sad to see litters around the park and even in the lake. This shows that people are irresponsible and does not really care about the environment though there are reminders and signboards around to remind and warn people not to pollute the park. Park users should learn how to protect and appreciate the park and the living organisms which beautify the place.
Through this activity, we had gained lots of knowledge and learnt how important is the different organisms to us and how it affects the whole ecosystem.
